Ohio School “Flips” Over $2,500 Donation from Fazoli’s

Lexington, Ky. – Students at Edwin D. Smith Elementary School in the Dayton, Ohio suburb of Oakwood are flipping out with new Flip video cameras purchased with a $2,500 donation
from Fazoli’s.

Oakwood resident Mary Ellen Waldron won Fazoli’s “Return to Real Food and Return to School a Hero” back-to-school sweepstakes. As the winner, she was able to select a school to receive the donation. Waldron, whose son attended the school, today joined Fazoli’s president and CEO Carl Howard in presenting the check to students and staff.

Waldron was one of more than seven thousand people nationwide who entered the sweepstakes. In addition to the opportunity to select a school to receive the donation, she won a year’s worth of family meals.  All Smith students received a coupon for a free kids meal from Fazoli’s.

The school used the donation to equip all of its classrooms with video Flip cameras that students use to complete a variety of assignments.

“Giving back to our communities – especially schools – has long been a part of the Fazoli’s culture,” Howard said. “We’re very grateful to the thousands of guests who entered the sweepstakes, including Mary Ellen Waldron, who today is a real hero to the kids at Smith School.”
