Fazoli’s Celebrates 20 Years With 20-Cent Specials, More Free Spaghetti and All New Menu

Lexington, Kentucky – Fazoli’s, known for fast, fresh Italian food, kicks off its 20th anniversary celebration Monday, February 16 with a feast of special offers, including a continuation of its popular free spaghetti promotion and nearly a dozen delectable new menu items, all of which are now baked fresh to order.
Visit http://www.freespaghetti.com for details on the celebration, which includes coupons for free spaghetti and 20-cent “double-dime” entrees, salads and drinks.  Two new offers will be made available each week through May 10.  Since Fazoli’s launched its “Italian Revolution” at freespaghetti.com early last month, nearly 200,000 consumers have visited the site, prompting Fazoli’s to keep the revolution alive and expand the Web site offers.
“Freespaghetti.com really struck a chord with both current and new guests,” said Carl Howard, president and CEO. “Continuing the revolution and expanding the coupon offers is Fazoli’s way of thanking our guests for 20 years of loyalty and encouraging them to try our new menu.”
Fazoli’s today is introducing 11 new oven-baked pasta entrees and Submarinos® sandwiches, and a new Italian garden side salad.  “This is the single biggest menu overhaul in our 20 year history,” said Judy Hollis, vice president of Research and Development.  “Guests told us they appreciate Fazoli’s tradition of quality, freshness and value, but they wanted food with more flavor and flair, and they wanted more variety.” New items include: 
•Penne with Creamy Basil Chicken – Penne baked with creamy basil sauce, sliced grilled chicken, fire-roasted tomatoes, Mozzarella and Provolone cheeses
•Tortellini Robusto – Tortellini baked with grilled chicken, sliced Italian sausage, creamy Marinara, Mozzarella and Provolone cheeses
•Creamy Chicken Florentine – Penne baked with spinach Alfredo sauce, sliced grilled chicken, Mozzarella and Provolone cheeses
•Fazoli’s® Deep Dish Pasta – Penne baked with Marinara, sliced Italian sausage, peppers, onions, mushrooms, crushed red pepper, Mozzarella and Provolone cheeses
•Italian Beef Gorgonzola Submarinos® – Italian beef loaded with onions, peppers, mushrooms, Provolone cheese and Gorgonzola spread
•Fire-Roasted Red Pepper Chicken Submarinos® – Grilled chicken topped with onions, peppers, Provolone cheese and roasted red pepper spread
•Smoked Turkey Basil Submarinos® – Smoked turkey with creamy basil mayonnaise, Swiss cheese and zesty Italian dressing

“This is the first phase of completely reinventing our menu and operations to deliver guests premium Italian food at a remarkable value,” said Howard. 
Fazoli’s will continue its menu reinvention in May, when it introduces additional new pastas, sauces, entrée salads and desserts.  “We are upgrading virtually all of our ingredients, from sauces and breads to condiments and meats,” added Hollis.
However, some traditions remain unchanged – dine-in guests will continue to enjoy unlimited breadsticks, a Fazoli’s favorite for 20 years.
